1. Website
When I started my first business, I didn’t treat it as a business.
I started it as a hobby (travel blog). That’s why I chose a cheap hosting company and I used a free WordPress template to get started, and a free multilingual plugin that lets me write in two languages (German and English).
What I didn’t think about was that free hurts you in the long run. Cheap hosting often means a slower loading time of your website, which hurts your ranking on Google.
Free templates are not as customizable as you want them to be, and the free multilingual plugin today sometimes drives me crazy.
What I want to say is: if you start an online business and you start a website, you don’t have to pay a lot to get it up and running, but there are some fundamental things you’d better invest in right from the beginning.

2. Mindset
What do all super successful entrepreneurs have in common? They constantly work on their mindset and their manifesting muscle.
When I started out, I was only focused on strategy and what was currently a good business to start with. I didn’t think about what the right business for me was.
What I neglected was working on my mindset. Working and releasing negative beliefs around money (money blocks) and myself.
Having a positive mindset is much more, much, much more important than having the “right” kind of strategy.
I say that to be successful with your business, you need 80% mindset and 20% strategy.
No wonder every successful entrepreneur invests in a coach or mentor.
When I work with my 1:1 clients , we work on their mindset and on manifesting, and a part of it is on strategy.
They know that working with a coach and mentor is not an expense, but an investment in their future and in their success as an entrepreneur.
I hire coaches and work with them, and I wish I had started with this investment when I was starting out.
3. Starting the right business
I cannot emphasize it often enough. You should start a business that is the right business for you. I made the mistake of starting a business selling private-label products on Amazon.
There’s nothing wrong with it. In fact, there are some who crush it selling on Amazon. I just felt miserable after some time doing it. I was successful, but it didn’t feel right,t and I didn’t like it at all.
I stopped it, closed my account,t and learned one, if not the most important thing ever: If you start a business only for the goal of making money and you don’t like it, you will feel miserable.
You will quit, you will sabotage your success, and you will burn out.
This is why I’m saying it over and over again (because I don’t want you to make the same mistake and lose money and time starting the wrong kind of business):
You have to figure out what kind of business is the right kind of business for you.
