For a long time, hustle culture was sold as the path to success. Get up at 5 am (Tried it. Doesn’t work for me). Work harder. Post more. Do more. Be more consistent. Push through. Sleep later. Rest when it is all done.
And if you are a female entrepreneur, especially one who cares deeply about her work, it can feel very easy to fall for it. Because you want to grow. You want to do your work well. You want to be taken seriously. So you keep going, even when your body, your mind, and your intuition are quietly telling you that something is off.
I know that feeling well.
There have been seasons in my own business where I was in full overdrive mode. I was creating content, trying to be visible, thinking about the next thing I had to publish, and constantly feeling like I should be doing more.
On the outside, it looked productive. Inside, it often felt tight, heavy, and strangely disconnected.
And because I am a Projector, I run out of energy faster than other people, but I did not know that for a long time, so I kept pushing in ways that were never sustainable for me.
That is the thing about hustle culture. It can look like ambition, but often it is just fear dressed up as discipline.

What Hustle Culture Actually Looks Like
Hustle culture is not only about working long hours. Sometimes it looks very polished.
It can look like:
- Always being available
- Measuring your worth by output
- Feeling guilty when you rest
- Chasing every strategy because someone else said it works
- Creating from pressure instead of inspiration
- Confusing busyness with progress
A lot of women entrepreneurs fall into this pattern because we have been taught to prove ourselves. Prove we are serious. Prove we are capable. Prove we deserve success.
So we overdo. We overthink. We overdeliver.
And then we wonder why business starts to feel heavy.
If you feel like it feels heavy and you cannot figure out why, my business clarity coaching helps.
What a Soul-Led Business Is Instead
A soul-led business is not lazy. It is not passive. And it is not a refusal to do the work.
It is a business built from inner guidance, self-trust, and alignment.
For me, that means listening for the quiet nudge before I force a decision.
It means checking whether something feels expansive or draining. It means allowing strategy to support me instead of suffocating me.
That does not mean I sit around waiting for the universe to send me a sign.
It means I combine intuition with action.
It means I trust that my energy matters just as much as my strategy.
And yes, I still work. I still plan. I still create. But I do it differently now.
The 80 Percent Energetics, 20 Percent Strategy Approach
This is one of the biggest shifts in my own business.
I do not believe business is only strategy. I also do not believe it is only energy. For me, it is both.
The way I see it, business is 80 percent energetics and 20 percent strategy.
That means:
- If your energy is disconnected, even the best strategy will feel hard
- If your strategy is unclear, even beautiful energy will not create direction
- If both are aligned, things start to flow in a way that feels natural and sustainable
There was a time when I kept trying to fit myself into strategies that looked smart on paper but did not feel right in my body.
I could make them work for a short while, but I always ended up exhausted or uninspired.
The moment I started choosing what actually felt aligned, I became clearer, more consistent, and much more effective.
Real Differences Between the Two

Here is where the difference becomes very practical.
In hustle culture:
- Decisions come from urgency
- Strategy is copied from other people
- Growth is measured by how much you can endure
- Rest feels like a reward you have to earn
In a soul-led business:
- Decisions come from inner clarity
- Strategy is adapted to your strengths and season
- Growth is measured by sustainability and alignment
- Rest is part of the rhythm, not something you apologize for
That shift changes everything.
You stop asking, “How do I push harder?”
You start asking, “What actually works for me?”
Why Soul-Led Business Is Not an Excuse
I want to say this clearly because it matters.
Soul-led business is not a fancy way to avoid responsibility.
It is not a reason to ignore structure, stop showing up, or pretend that consistency does not matter.
You still need to take action. You still need to create. You still need to be visible. You still need to make decisions.
The difference is that you stop doing it from depletion.
You stop building in a way that costs you your peace.
You stop treating burnout like a badge of honor.
That is not weakness. That is wisdom.
How to Start Shifting
If you recognize yourself in hustle culture, the shift does not have to be dramatic.
You can start with questions like:
- What feels forced right now?
- What am I doing because I think I should?
- What would feel more natural if I trusted myself?
- Where am I pushing when I could simplify?
- What would I choose if I was not trying to prove anything?
And then, slowly, you start making different decisions.
You simplify. You trust your own timing. You choose the strategy that feels clean instead of crowded.
That is how a soul-led business starts to take shape.
There Is Another Way
If hustle culture has made you feel like business has to be hard to be real, I want to offer you another truth.
You do not need to sacrifice yourself to succeed.
You do not need to force your way into growth.
You do not need to build in a way that drains you just to prove that you can.
You can build a business that feels good.
You can build a business that works.
You can build a business that supports your life instead of taking it over.
That is the kind of business I believe in.
