Finding your purpose is pretty easy and it doesn’t take long to figure out.

More and more are unsatisfied with their life, their jobs, career, and even business. It’s normal.

The energy has shifted globally. What worked and was accepted in the past (working for the sake of working) doesn’t work anymore.

Your soul wants you to do something meaningful, something that lights up your heart.

With the exercise included in this post, you can find out exactly what it is.

At this time.

Your purpose is not set in stone, and you may have more than one purpose in this lifetime.

So concentrate on the present and what your calling is right now.

HOW TO FIND YOUR PURPOSE

When you’re starting to focus more on your spiritual growth, it’s only a matter of time until you begin asking questions like the following:

  • Why am I here?
  • What’s my purpose?
  • Who am I?

If you never thought about these questions, it’s the perfect time to take out your journal and answer them.

While you’re becoming more of your authentic self, it’s normal to want to know why you’re here, what your life’s purpose is, and what your soul’s mission is on this planet.

The soul’s sole focus is to make certain experiences, to grow, to heal, and to evolve. Your main purpose is to grow and remember you’re a divine being.

On the other hand, we, as humans—our mind and ego—want to know exactly what our life purpose is. It gives our mind and ego a reason to feel special and important.

As mentioned earlier, before you incarnated into this body, you wanted to make some experiences in this lifetime. Certain experiences are part of your soul’s journey and path.

Our mind makes it a lot harder because it thinks there’s one big purpose in life and this is what we’re looking for. While this may be true for some to have one life purpose, many have more than one purpose.

If you often changed your career or started something completely new without knowing why, there’s a chance you have multiple life purposes.

It’s not very satisfying to hear it’s not as important to focus on and ask for your life’s purpose because it’s frustrating if you don’t know what to do or be in the future, especially if you have this nagging feeling that there’s something more out there for you but you can’t quite grasp it. Our mind and ego make it a lot more important than our soul does. Our soul wants to experience this 3D dimension, grow, and play the game of life. It’s not focused on time and when something should happen because time is an illusion.

It’s okay not to know what you truly want to be or do right now. We’re conditioned to follow a certain career, climb the corporate ladder, or start a business and be profitable from day one. We learned from society, adult figures, and family that it’s important to get a job, start a family, buy a house, get a car, etc.

But especially since 2020, things have been shifting globally. People started to or have been forced to rethink and ask themselves if what they did was really what they wanted.

It’s time to ask yourself questions and get to know yourself better. So I understand more than ever why people are looking for their life purpose (or their next life purpose). This is where this exercise comes in handy.

How to Find Your Purpose in 5 Minutes

EXERCISE FOR FINDING YOUR PURPOSE

  • Take out a sheet of paper and divide it into two sections.
  • In the left column, list everything you love doing or what you enjoy.
    • For example (as in my case), traveling, reading, talking to and listening to inspiring people, studying about mindset and energy, cooking plant-based food, being surrounded by beautiful things, going on safaris, etc.
    • List everything that lights you up.

In the right column, write down everything you’re good at.

  • If you have a hard time knowing what to write, think about what comes easily to you but other people struggle with.
  • For example, you’re a good listener, intuitive, great at baking, good at sports, etc.
  • When you’re done with the two columns, highlight the top three items in every column.
    • In the left column, choose the three things you love doing the most, and in the right column, choose the three you’re good at and that come easily to you.
  • Now combine the things you love doing with the things you’re good at.

Ta-da! This is your purpose.

Now it’s time for you to figure out how you can make this a career or business in case you want to make a living out of it. If you’re already retired, you can use the columns to find out what gives you joy. If you’re in school and you don’t know what to study or what you want to do in the future, you can use this exercise to gain clarity.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FIND YOUR PURPOSE, BUT YOU’RE TOO AFRAID/SCARED OF PURSUING IT?

It’s normal to feel scared about following your passion and purpose, especially if has to do with something you have never done before.

It can feel overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating.

It forces you to step out of your comfort zone.

I helped by coaching and healing Mona. She was working in a place where she felt unappreciated, but she was too scared to change her circumstances and follow her dreams.

She wanted to start studying again but felt too old. She was in her late 40’s at that time. It also meant she needed to move away from her current home, leave her current, prestigious job, to be able to study.

We worked through her fears and worries and she moved and started studying again. She followed her dreams and released her worries and doubts.

This is only one example of how I helped people with coaching and energy healing to finally follow their dreams and live a happy life.

If this sounds interesting to you, and you want to deal with your shadow parts, your fear, traumas, insecurities, I highly recommend you read my book Soul-Led: How to Follow Your Inner Compass to an Incredibly Fulfilling and Happy Life.

BECOMING A SOUL-LED BUSINESS OWNER

If you think about starting a business—whether it’s service-based or selling physical products—it’s important to start a business that suits you

It’s important to start the right kind of business.

So many waste their time, money, and energy, because they start a business the wrong way.

I know exactly what it feels like. I made the same mistakes. I fell into the trap of the shiny object. For me, it was selling physical products on Amazon. It was the business to start in 2015 if you wanted to make a huge amount of money in a short amount of time. There is nothing wrong with it, but it wasn’t the right thing for me. I knew it after about half a year in. My soul wasn’t in it.

I’m a teacher, leader, intuitive coach, and energy healer, not a seller of physical products via Amazon (except for my book and journals, but that’s a different story).

It doesn’t matter what other people are trying to tell you. The business has to be fulfilling in some way for you.

Running a business is hard work and if your heart is not in it, it’s nearly impossible to keep going.

That’s why so many businesses fail.

New business owners and entrepreneurs put all of their attention on strategies and the how-to. While this is certainly important, it’s only a small part of being successful.

The biggest part of becoming a successful business owner is by focusing your energy on your mindset.

This is where the majority of people fail. They think they need to focus all of their energy on strategy, hustle, and willpower.

But why do you think the majority of successful entrepreneurs have coaches and mentors and focus on their mindset? Because this is what matters the most.

So do yourself the favor and take some time to find out what the right business is for you. A business that makes you happy and fulfilled. You will spend a lot of time starting and growing it. So better make the right decision from the beginning and figure out what the right kind of business is for YOU.
