So many brilliant, beautiful and heart-centered people out there—including you—are dimming their light and holding back on what they truly want to be/share/create in the world, because of fear and worry about what others might think about them.
They know deep down what they would like to share with this world:
their beliefs,
wisdom,
knowledge
and ways to make this world a better place.
So why do especially these people (you) have a hard time sharing their gifts with and in this world?
Because they are afraid of what others might think of them.
It’s scary to open up and to share your feelings, beliefs, and wisdom on the internet or on social media.
Your family, your spouse, your friends, your relatives, and even people (or trolls) you don’t even know might pick up on it and make fun of you, ghost you, or worse: leave you.
There are so many of us who held back and still do out of fear of being rejected.
It’s safer to stay in your comfort zone. It feels safer to be where you are and how you behave although you have this nagging feeling inside of you and the knowing that you only show 5% of who you truly are and what you are capable of.
I chickened out so many times in the past—especially when I came to share my true self— because of what others might think of me.
Screw it.
If people find you are weird or if they (might) ask themselves or you what is wrong with you – it’s not your problem.
I don’t want to look back someday, knowing I didn’t live my purpose and share my gifts because of this or that particular person.
How stupid!
The other thing is: The people you think may judge you, do so anyway, no matter what you do, don’t do, be or have.
You can’t please anyone no matter what you do.
So better do what you want to do, be or have.
The other thing is that most of the time they don’t spend a single thought about you, because they are focused on their own insecurities, doubts, and the crap they are dealing with.
Another point I want to make: People who judge, are often simply jealous because they can sense that you live your life and shine your light, while they are dimming their light.
Your mission, your vision, your dreams are too important to not share them, simply because of what might happen (which doesn’t mean it will happen).
Also: It’s selfish to not share your gifts and value with the world. There are people out there needing to hear YOUR MESSAGE, YOUR words of WISDOM, and YOUR STORIES.
If you’re still scared there is a question you can ask yourself (which always works like a charm for me):
IF I DON’T DO IT, WILL I REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?
This should give you some perspective in case you are holding back because of being scared of what others might think of you.
You don’t know what they think anyway and you can’t control what they are thinking.
Besides, there are people out there who love you and will love you for exactly being this version you are currently too afraid to show.
These are your people.
This is your tribe, not the minority of people who might want to pull you down.
If they try, forgive them, let them go, and move on.
Life is too short and precious wondering and worrying about what others may think of you.
You are beautiful the way you are.
